Dinner in Emmaus is an original contemporary arwork realized in the second half of the XX Century by the Italian contemporary artist Isabella Marullo.
Original oil on canvas.
Hand-signed on the lower left. Hand-signed by the artist on the back.
Excellent conditions.
Very interesting oil on canvas depicting three seated figures of men. The title of the work is significant: the painting represents the culmination of the action of the episode described in the Gospel of Luke. Two disciples of Christ, Cleopa on the left and the other on the right, perhaps Giacomo Maggiore, recognize the risen Christ, who had presented to them as a beggar and had invited him to dinner, when he makes the gesture of blessing the bread and wine, thus alluding to the sacrament of the Eucharist. The style of the painting is interesting: a mix between the Methaphysical style and the chromatism of the "Scuola Romana" characterize this gorgeous painting.
