Jamini Roy: 1887-1972. Extremely well listed and important Indian artist. He has auction prices over $573,000 which was just last month. His works are considered National Treasures and are not allowed to be exported out of India. He often painted very similar subject matters, like 3 women or mother and child scenes. This masterful work is either tempera or gouache as they are both listed as mediums he frequently used. It measures approximately 29 1/2 inches high by 15 3/4 wide. The frames which seem to be original as they have an old Indian gallery label measure 33 1/4 inches high by 19 1/2 wide. P.S. I would suggest removing glass before shipping for whomever is the lucky buyer.
