Just as I explore a city while photographing graffiti (selecting what images to capture for color, line and patina), the layering of street ephemera in my abstract work is a process of discovery. Each gesture becomes an individual drawing, the gesture is imbued with the color of graffiti walls and hand printed on the surface as the composition builds layer by layer, intertwined with my own gestures, acrylic paint, paper, spray paint and other mediums. Nightshift is a soft moody piece that will “shift” the viewer from a long hard day into nocturnal bliss. Natural wood sides sealed with a non-toxic urethane clear gel to enhance the natural beauty of wood while offering an outstanding protective finish that is resistant to moisture.
