Mark Kostabi is a surrealist artist who depicts smooth and faceless figures throughout his work. In this oil painting, Kostabi shows a person tripping over a lamp and a set of traffic cones. The figure’s stomach is transparent and shows a small tv that they have apparently swallowed, which is alluded to by the secondary title “TV Digest”. Kostabi often creates pieces like this that are larger commentaries on media consumption. The painting is signed and dated on both sides by the artist, with a title on the back.
