Solid mahogany wood frame with gold decoration. Overall framed measurements are 24.75 by 33.25 inches.
Jean-Louis-Marcel Cosson was born in 1878 in Bordeaux. His first exhibition was in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he would later become a member. He received an honourable mention at the age of 23 in 1901, and a third-place medal in 1911. He also exhibited at the Société des Beaux Arts and the Salon des Tuileries.
Cosson is a post-impressionist artist who developed a very distinctive style which makes him immediately recognisable among his peers. His passion was to capture a bustling Paris which was the epicentre of the Modern art world at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Fascinated by Edgar Degas, he almost invariably followed the themes beloved by the Impressionist Master, such as Parisian women or horse racing. But like for Degas, his most admired works remain his paintings of...

This painting is in an originally chosen "Pushman" frame acquired from Barcelona, Spain. There is incredible color in this work and exciting brushwork. It is a true example of Impressionist technique, perhaps some of the finest technically of all American painters at this time. At this time Pushman painted all ethnicities and here we see the unusual subject of a younger sitter. Thus Pushman has emphasized purity and innocence. ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
José María Tuser Vázquez (Barcelona, 1919 - 1986) was a Spanish painter specialized in bullfighting themes, gaining recognition in the 20th-century art scene for his expressive depictions of the corrida (bullfight). He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, where he developed a strong mastery of color and composition.
From 1947 onwards, his work focused almost entirely on bullfighting, creating posters, illustrations, and paintings that capture the emotion and spectacle of the arena. He was a frequent collaborator with El Ruedo magazine, where his illustrations and covers solidified his reputation. Additionally, in the 1940s, he designed series of postcards featuring traditional Spanish costumes for the Artigas Publishing House.
