The artists Michael Pröpper calls these works "chairoplanes and corniches". A painted picture ist not in the least a two dimensional representation of a figurative reality with color and canvas. It is much more. A painted picture is a living, force-object, which releases the stored energy and soul for years at every sight. This object is always ready, always faithful and not exhaustible. Each of these moments is an encounter with the debt, the feeling, the power and the inspiration that has been inscribed to it. Dr. Michael Pröpper, born 1968, artist and anthropologist, lives and works as a painter and installation artist near Hamburg. Various national and international exhibitions and art fairs, e.g. in Belgium, Denmark, England Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Namibia, Austria, Sweden. For Dr. Michael Pröpper art and anthropology are two field that enrich each other and are important to one another. It is abut the pictorial reflection on how modern people are thrown into the world and wander through it. Poetry and politics, color and concept, soul and search, energy and emotion. In his paintings Pröpper is concerned with the lyeredness and translucence of the luminous world, the illusion of modern life, the incomplete nature of our blurred perception, and human consciousness in a speedy and noisy life. His paintings in oil, acrylic and many mixed-media techniques, e.g. pencil writings, are often compositions at the border between the figurative and the abstract.
