Nadezda Stupina
Running away childhood

About the Item

In this oil painting, I've blended elements of figurative work, impressionism, and realism to evoke a sense of fleeting innocence and the restless cusp of adolescence. The brushwork carries the weight of emotions, depicting a young soul amidst the vastness of the world. This piece breathes life and energy into any space, inviting viewers to connect with the universal journey of growth and self-discovery.Why do children want to grow up faster, and adults, on the contrary, return to childhood? Why does time flow slowly in childhood, but it flies fast to old age? And this is both joy and sadness. These were the artist's reflections during the creation of the work. The best boy in the world, Sebastian, was an inspiring model. The painting is framed in a flat black frame and is ready for hanging.

Jules Van Biesbroeck was the son of Jules Evariste van Biesbroeck, a painter of Ghent, but was born in Italy, in Portici, near Naples, while his parents were staying there. (In the 19th century many artists made educational trips to Italy). It was a long visit: the child was two years old by the time the family returned to Ghent.[1] After a short period of practice with his father, van Biesbroeck was enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. His first painting, "The Shepherd" (French: Le pâtre), was sold at the Triennale in Ghent. In 1888, when he was only 15 years old, he made his debut at the "Salon des Champs-Elysées" in Paris with his monumental work "The Launch of the Argo" (French: Le lancement...
