About the Item
Artist Comments
This painting is part of Patrick Duffy's signature series intended to convey a sense of motion through groups of characters as whole, moving forward in a river-like fashion. Nautical themes in his work are influenced by Patrick's childhood spent in a small fishing culture on the ocean, as well as his passion for environmental and physical sciences.
About the Artist
The overarching theme of Patrick Duffy;s artwork is transformation. By creating an environment of rhythm and fluidity, he allows each piece to shape itself into unexpected patterns and forms. Patrick often infuses components of physics, such as space, time and matter into his work. Experiencing the outdoors has always been a passion of his, despite living in the concrete jungle of New York City.
