Self-taught Mexican painter Pedro Bonnin creates lavishly rendered, hyperrealistic paintings in oil that combine whimsy and provocation. As a young man, Bonnin traveled to Europe, where he visited galleries and studied Italian masters like Giotto and Simone Martini.
