Prasanta Sahu
Prasanta Sahu’s inventiveness in his works lies as much in the selection and juxtaposing of the images as in its technical manipulations. He takes imagery from daily life and puts it together in another context. Commingling pictures and text, Sahu borrows motifs from the mass media. In his work, Sahu moves away from the high-modernist obsession with the formal properties of the painted surface. The paintings operate as performative gestures connecting the realms of art and society.

- Agreement with Mother-II: Mastery, Mixed Media on INR 100 Court Paper "In Stock"By Pradosh SwainLocated in Kolkata, West BengalPradosh Swain - Agreement with Mother-II – 8.2 x 11.5 inches (unframed size) Mixed Media on a INR 100 Court Paper ( used to make a legal agreement ) Inclusive of shipment in a roll form. Style : Pradosh’s works can be described as psychic automatism in its pure state. His works are expressive and his palette vibrant and gorgeous. Nature is the frequent imagery that we see in his paintings. Sometimes his imagery is outlandish, perplexing and uncanny as it is meant to shake the viewer and make them to think beyond the theories which they have guarded themselves with. Lot of elements that we see in pradosh’s paintings also come from his childhood days in Odisha. like the cock, kite or the bioscope. As a young boy also he used to enjoy nature study and it became his daily routine to go and sit amongst trees and birds and observe them very closely, which made him gain mastery over water colour medium. Pradosh’s paintings have a surrealistic quality, the imagery is dreamy and mystical and rendering is such as if there is some kind of romance and magic happening amongst the colours in his palette. His paintings are the result of brilliant culminations of feelings and things that are between imagination and reality. They reflect his genuine concern about issues he feels for. He emphasizes on the power of imagination and believes that revelation could be found anywhere….on the streets and in everyday life. Through his paintings artist depicts the notion that how our high pace life is making all of us loose that contact from the nature or even with ourselves.
