Ravi Chaurasiya (b. 1994, Delhi., India) has a BFA from Banaras Hindu University (2016), and MFA from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (2018). His interdisciplinary art practice spans various forms like installations, painting, sculpture, sound, and video art. He has been a part of numerous residencies and exhibitions including the Group Annual Art Exhibition B.H.U. (2012-2015); Dharti Arts Residency by Serendipity Arts, New Delhi, 2018; Avolon global studio art residency, Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, Ireland, 2019; the Kochi Student Biennale Wall Project, a part of the Kochi Muziris Biennale. Chaurasiya experiments with his mediums, employing the use of unconventional materials like matchsticks and motherboards to create a cultural commentary on our decaying natural surroundings. His works are visualizations representing various dimensions of pollution, climate change, population, and phenomena contributing to a deplorable dystopia.“With the excessive use of technology at their disposal, humans today have lost some vital connection with the other sentient beings and the environment at large.” he says.
