Ryszard Osadczy
Ryszard Osadczy studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Between 1968–78, he worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice – branch of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Since 1978, he has been an academic worker at the Pedagogical University in Częstochowa, where he founded the Department of Graphic Design and Photography. Since 1992, he was also a professor at WSP, where he was the director of the Institute of Fine Arts and a dean of the Faculty of Art Education. Osadczy was a dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the European Academy of Arts as well. The artist worked in the fields of graphic arts, painting, drawing, photography and stained glass art. Osadczy died on 26th February 2013. He was the author of numerous individual exhibitions and participated in over 400 group exhibitions (national and international). Osadczy received many prestigious awards, including the Special Prize of the International Biennial of Graphic Arts (Kraków), Gold Medal team at the International Salon (Paris), the Regional Arts Award (Katowice), the Award of the Mayor of Częstochowa, the Award of the Rector of Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, WSP / AJD and EAS, as well as the Silver and Gold Cross of Merit. His works, which often attract and surprise a viewer with their novelty, originality and strangeness, may be found in private and public collections in Poland and abroad.
