Sunil das was the youngest artist to have won the National Award - The Taj Shiromani Kala Puraskar
Recipient of the much coveted Govt. of India's 4th Highest Civilian Award: The PadmaShree (2014).
Highly talented Sunil Das has done shows all across the world, got fame as early as while he was still in college, youngest recipient of the Lalit Kala Academy Awards and received a scholarship to study at L’Ecole Nationale Superior des Beaux arts, Paris.
“There are painters who transform the Sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who, with the help of their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into Sun" - Pablo Picasso. Sunil Das was exactly one such artist.
Style : Sunil Das' style of work is very original and shows no specific influence. He had risen to fame like MF Hussain with his famous paintings of horses, to the extent that he was nicknamed 'Ghora Das' (Hindi which means Horse Das).
Like Hussain, Sunil Das was inspired by the force and strength of the moving horse. The horses and the bull (inspired from his visit to Spain and witnessing the Bull Fighting) have appeared more than 7000 times in Das’s works. He has otherwise painted haunting pictures of women thereby revealing the dark side of people who are otherwise considered beautiful. His works on the Red Light of Kolkata, was also much lauded and brings about an important social message through his works.
Das's main mediums could easily be Oil on Canvas, His Stimulating and Stirring works in Mixed Media, Conte, Charcoal, Serigraphy, Wood Works and Sculptures. Whatever medium he worked on, he effortlessly mastered.
Not one to be stuck to one style, Das experimented and worked on various series and mediums. His works involves the quick use of the brush and pen to create master pieces that have a dynamic effect, potent with power.

- Wings 2021, Acrylic, Charcoal, Canvas by Modern Artist Shuvaprasanna "In Stock"By Shuvaprasanna BhattacharyaLocated in Kolkata, West BengalShuvaprasanna Bhattacharya - Wings 2021 - 60 x 30 inches (unframed size) Acrylic and Charcoal on Canvas , 2021 One of the most popular series of the Master Artist, The Golden Flute is the artists more romantic renedition of Art. The iconic figures of Krishna, Radha, and Ganesha that found lyrical expression in the Icons series are modern representations and sophisticated idealizations of the same images in the popular media. Krishna is a cosmic musician, and the tune he creates by playing his transcendental flute is embodied with cosmic energy. When Krishna is depicted as being between the age of 5 and 8, it is always with his flute. Therefore, during this period, he is aptly called Murlidhara (murali means “flute,” and dhara means “hold”), signifying the one who holds the flute. He is never without it, whether he is with his mother, on the grazing grounds with his herd of cows, among his cowherd companions or roaming around on the Jamuna banks. Gopis lose their selves in this tune. For them, music becomes the voice of love, which is too passionate and secretive. Style : The city of Kolkata has always figured prominently in his work. His themes come from his personal interactions with its urban milieu - its sickness and sordidness, its violence and vulnerability and all that compounds its existential agony. Shuvaprasanna has depicted varying moods of the city and its people, its places, and all its facets that make the city distinctive. He doesn't merely portray reality as 'matter of fact' and his presentation of reality often has dream-like elements in it. In terms of technique, Shuvaprasanna boasts a precise, finely executed style that yields an unmistakable visual intensity. He works comfortably in an assortment of media, including oil on canvas, charcoal, and mixed media. About the Artist and his work : Born : In Calcutta, 1947. Education : Graduated from Indian College of Art (R.B. University, Calcutta) in 1969. Exhibitions : Shuvaprasanna has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Tao Art Gallery and at the Chawla Art Gallery, Square One Mall. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'ABODE' sold at Waddington's 'Fine Prints & Photography Auction' in 2014. There have been many articles about Shuvaprasanna, including 'An exclusive edifice' written by Kunal Ray for The Hindu in 2014. - Evening, Monotype, Abstract Figurative Art, Framed 23x23, CattleLocated in Houston, TXEvening is a1 of 1 Monotype and displays bold and bright colors to highlight this abstract figurative work of art. This is a new series of monotypes by Charlotte Seifert that she began doing in 2021. It is 1/1 on paper in a custom frame which measures 23 x 23 framed. It is protected by conservation Plexiglass. The piece of art is 1/1 and was produced in 2023. Also shown are others available on 1stdibs. The images are hand cut and attached to the monotype print. This is the only print so that is why it is a monotype. A monotype is a print, but with one major difference from other printmaking processes: the artist creates exactly one print, instead of multiples (called editions). This is due to the way a monotype is made. To make a monotype, the artist applies paint or ink directly onto the plate — which can be metal, glass, plexiglas, or even gelatin. The plate is pressed against the paper to transfer the ink. (So the finished print is a mirror image of what’s on the plate.) The printing can be done with a printing press or sometimes by hand. It’s a simple process that allows for lots of experimentation and variation. The artist can create layered prints, use objects as masks between plate and paper, or selectively apply pressure to create a trace monotype. Charlotte's work is largely abstract with landscape and nature elements incorporated into her work. Her inspiration comes from themes in literature, theology and personal history. Evoking an emotion or sense of place is Charlotte's focus rather than depicting a specific setting or rendering a certain object. Nature has become a metaphor for her for the current of constant change in life and love. This Houston based artist has been making art for most of her life. She was trained at SMU where she earned her BFA and MFA in painting. Her first art instructor was Roger Winter...Category
