"Sometimes we find comfort in the most unexpected of forms or size. A protector swathed in resonant blues —a guardian cradling the delicate essence of the subconscious in a world engulfed in deep blues and vivid reds."
Tam Ess makes oil paintings that explore the subconscious, blending figurative surrealism with balanced compositions that captivate the viewers. Her paintings are characterised by vibrant colours harmoniously juxtaposed with earthy tones and subtle shades. This deliberate palette choice adds depth to her works inviting the viewers to delve deeper into the piece and discover paradoxes about life.
Her visual language was heavily influenced by Max Ernst and Hieronymus Bosch. She works primarily with oils on large scale canvas and projects. Her current works explore the contemporary sphere whilst staying true to her vision of challenging viewers to find the beauty and little surprises hidden in everyday ironies.
