A lively and expressive mid-century modernist style narrative street scene composition, executed in oil onto board.
The painting captures a snapshot of a moment in time. In the foreground of the painting, a group of people are strolling on a pathway, going about their everyday lives. The middle ground of the painting presents a lush garden with flowers in bloom, and the background features tall colourful buildings under a cloudy blue sky.
The artist has selected a spectrum of rich and uplifting colours, and the use of expressive brushstrokes add to the overall sense of energy and joyfulness to the painting.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary wide-profiled gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
