Nautical Sea Landscape Vintage Painting Oil Canvas stuck to Cardboard Framed Ships Art by Zakharov F. This is an original painting by a well known Soviet Ukrainian artist Zakharov F. (1919 - 1994). This work was painted in 1970-1979 and was signed on the back side. The painting depicts ships and boats in a sea port. This is an industrial sea landscape. It is a cloudy day on a sea coast. The sky is light grey and the water is light blue. Title: "Work in full swing. Port" Materials: Oil, Canvas stuck to Cardboard, Frame Measures: 49.3 cmH x 69.5 cmW (19.4” x 27.4”) - without frame; 62.5 cmH x 83.3 cmW (24.6" x 32.8") - with frame. The painting is framed but I can also send the painting without the frame. Zakharov Fyodor was born on September 5, 1919 in the village of Aleksandrovskoye (now - Monastyrshchinsky district, Smolensk region, Russia) in a peasant family. In 1935 he entered the Kalinin Moscow Art School, from which he graduated with honors in 1941. Due to health problems, he was declared unfit for military service. During 1943-1950 he continued his studies at the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute in the workshops of A. V. Lentulov, I. Chekmasov and G. G. Ryazhsky. Fyodor Zakharov's paintings have been participating in exhibitions since 1953. The artist's personal exhibitions were held in Leningrad, Moscow (1959, 1960), Kyiv (1960, 1987). In his work, he focused on the images of landscapes and still lifes. He was a representative of Soviet impressionism. Fyodor Zakharov is rightfully considered one of the founders of the Southern Ukrainian "impressionistic school of painting", being educated, together with Valentin Bernadsky and Nikolai Bortnikov a whole generation of artists from the South of Ukraine. Some of his works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, National Art Museum of Ukraine, Simferopol Art Museum, Alupka Palace Museum, Feodosia Art Gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky, Sevastopol Art Museum, Novokuznetsk Museum of Soviet Fine Arts and others.
