About the Item
Artist Comments
This piece depicts an old dairy barn;s last stand. The cows are long gone and the milk house and windmill are derelict. A remnant of fencing borders a pasture now overgrown in dry grasses. Perfect! Time to paint! The painting is varnished and in an 11; x 14; archival matt and backing, allowing for easy framing. It is sleeved in plastic to protect the matting until framed.
About the Artist
When the land changes, Suzanne Massion;s paintings will remind you of the way it once was. She drives the back roads through the tall grass prairies and farmland of her native Illinois, stopping to paint en plein air when the moment strikes. She feels like she;s in a race to save a disappearing treasure as buildings burn or open space is paved over. Suzanne donates a portion of her sales to fund local land conservation efforts.

- Little London Street, Oil PaintingBy Hadley NorthropLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Inspired by a photograph, artist Hadley Northrop beautifully captures the enduring charm of a little street that remains unchanged over the years. "There is something irresistible about lit-up windows at night," shares Hadley. Set against the cobalt blue sky, the lights ranging from cream to persimmon cast a warm and inviting glow to the scene. "I used to live in England and loved the ordinary old buildings."About the Artist
Hadley’s subject matter is inspired by her San Francisco surroundings, particularly the city at night. Her glowing depictions of light sources are reminiscent of a blurred photograph or a bleary-eyed nighttime stroll. Hadley developed her love for art from her mother, a watercolorist, and continued to pursue her artistic career at a collegiate level and beyond. She now works out of a small studio in San Francisco’s Mission District. Hadley goes into her studio seven days a week with her Boston terrier puppy.Words that describe this painting: London, Hoxton, doors, windows, evening, night, nocturne, England, Britain, lights, twilight, roof, building, architecture, oilpaint, facade, small, modern, travel, city, architecture, travel, modern , oil painting, brown

- Long Pond Road AgainBy Edie NadelhaftLocated in East Quogue, NYLandscape painting, evening road scene titled "Long Pond Road Again" by Edie Nadelhaft - oil on canvas, 12 x 16 inches Edie Nadelhaft's paintings focus on the visual nuances and psychological ambiguity of twilight. No people are pictured, but each composition preserves some residue of the human presence, depicting desolate stretches of rural highway, some capped by an apocalyptic canopy of clouds. Rendered in a manner best described as Perceptual Realism, Nadelhaft draws the viewer into the scene, showing just as much - or as little - sharp detail as a human eye can process in person. The point of view and style of painting takes into account the fleeting nature of impressions, especially those formed while driving in low light on unfamiliar roads. In some scenes, light is greatly diminished, but it is not quite dark enough to reap the full benefit of headlights. Buildings, trees and power lines appear and disappear in a murky, shimmering haze; nighttime is fluid, rife with intrigue and for some, even dread. But the dark can also provide a portal to the imagination, opening up new possibilities and potential. And for the artist, it brings an overwhelming sense of wonder and relief. The night - especially traveling at night - offers protection, a respite, like a spell that conjures a brief suspension of responsibility and time as one hurtles through space fully enveloped in the totality of that experience. Realism, landscape painting, landscape, night scape...Category
