About the Item
Oil painting by artist Shuo Liu. The work portrays the beautiful landscape of Lake Thun in Switzerland. The artist has spent quite some time appreciating the scenery during his stay in the area. He adored the pine trees there and had the inspiration to paint the landscape. To be able to have a special connection with the scene he is recreating on the canvas, he first used pine needles from the local forest as paintbrushes. If we look closely, we can clearly see the lines created by the pine needles. Then, the artist refined the details with traditional brushes. By doing so, a special work is born. It represents the unique scenery of Lake Thun not just by a visual recreation, but also by being a part of the nature there.
