A delicate watercolor view of the Bridge at Aylesford over the River Medway in the English county of Kent.
Signed lower left "Frank Sherwin", (English, 1896-1986), titled "The Bridge at Aylesford, Kent", and painted circa 1955.
Sherwin first studied at Derby School of Art, and, from 1920, at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea, London. A master of light, he specialized in watercolor landscapes, exhibiting widely and with success over a long career. Sherwin's work was widely popularized in the 1930's through his illustrations of picturesque destinations for railway travel posters which are now considered collectible.
