TITLE: DIVE INTO BLUE IV Created in the summer of 2021 and inspired by the blue color and the diving into water process of creation. MATERIALS: It is painted with high quality acrylics on Bristol illustration paper. A thin layer of varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust. SIGNATURE: It is signed in front and accompanied with certificate of authenticity. READY TO HANG: It will be sold framed (43x55x2cm.) white wooden frame, white passpartout, plexiglass in front and a single hanger. Look at the detail photos. ---------------------------------- ABOUT MY ART: "Nature, light and colors inspire me the most. I follow the potentials of the materials, in a free, gestural process, which reminds of free associations in psychotherapy and meditation. I see one point and the whole, almost at the same time, again and again. I release and I hold, add and erase, again and again. I let my instinct and emotion flow, observing carefully how the elements of art communicate with each other; I form a composition that satisfies my aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual pursuit. What seems coincidence at the beginning is a product of systematic observation of every little detail and stroke study. I usually use acrylic combined with pigments. Maria Bacha
Greek painter Maria Bacha paints colorful, nebulous, abstract compositions inspired by nature and light. Working in an organic, gestural style, she allows the materials to guide her as the paintings develop. She employs a unique method of blending acrylic paint, pigments and resin to create a dynamic interplay between the layers. Transparent color fields pull the eye into the illusionary space and then seem to give way to ghostly, textured forms. Like celestial clouds or pools in the primordial soup, her compositions appear to always be in the process of becoming. Bacha has exhibited extensively in Greece, as well as in Europe and in the United States, and her work is in multiple public and private collections. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Arts from the University of La Verne, California. She lives and works in Marousi, Athens.
