"The Lady in the Distance" by Nan Hass Feldman is an abstracted scene of a lady far off and small compared to the environment of a lily pond with fish, flowers, bushes, and building. This detailed and highly designed work is part of a series of Botanical Garden Paintings done near Boca de Tomatlan, Mexico.
Nan Hass Feldman has been a full-time artist for over 40 years. Her works, whether Landscapes or Interiors are interpreted through her screen of selective seeing, playful detail, heightened color, and bits of fantasy. Nan’s work is always vibrantly colorful, intricate, enlivening, and upbeat. For Nan, art really is about enhancing and interpreting reality to create a more optimistic and joyous world. Nan’s work has been collected in seven countries, holds a BFA, MA, MFA degrees, teaches in three art museums, runs international painting programs, and runs the Artist Loft on a cruise ship. Feldman is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
