Beautiful still life of a dove on a branch against a blue geometric background by artist Oris Roberston in 1971. Signed and dated by artist on the bottom right corner. Placed in a lighter wooden frame. Artist Biography: Oris Robertson was a prolific visual artist, he started painting and drawing as a boy in Brownsville, Texas in the mid 1940s. He was born in 1937 in Presidio, across the border from Ojinaga and Chihuahua. Robertsons family moved to Brownsville when he was 8. He started drawing and painting soon after. He studied commercial art at Texas Southmost College and earned a degree in fine arts in 1968.

Artist Biography: Otis Dozier (1904-1987) was raised on a cotton farm between Forney and Mesquite, developing a love for art and nature at a young age. After his family moved into Dallas in 1920, he received his earliest art training from well-known instructor Vivian Aunspaugh. Following his 1925 graduation from Forest High School, Dozier continued his art studies at the Dallas Art Institute with Olin Travis and Tom Stell. Also, during the 1920s, he accompanied his parents and three sisters on at least three automobile trips through the American West, familiarizing himself with the region that he would later depict in his art.     ABOUT the artist: Audrey Frank Anastasi is a prolific feminist artist, working in painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, & printmaking. She is also curator, gallerist, educator and arts advocate. Most of Ms. Anastasi's figurative works are painted with her non-dominant left hand. She has created large bodies of works of birds, animals and birch trees. She has had 20 solo & 200 group shows. Her "ref-u-gee" series will be shown in 2020 at Medgar Evers College in collaboration with the Valentine Museum of Art, Brooklyn. Accompanying the show will be a limited-edition monograph w/ over 180 images and a foreword by Phyllis Braff. Ms. Anastasi's collage series was exhibited at Welancora Gallery, Brooklyn, in May, 2019.
