Orit Fuchs
Orit Fuchs lives and works in Tel Aviv, a storyteller with a deep, pure, and unquenchable appetite for artistic self-expression. Her medium spans the gamut - sculptures, painting, typography, illustration' knitting, photography, and more - whatever works best to bring her vision to life. Having worked as an art director for some of Israel's top agencies, Fuchs has a firm grasp on pop culture and gender roles in contemporary society, which serve as a natural backdrop against which her imagination unfurls. Her understanding of the human psyche and her fierce talent morph into moving work that takes place somewhere in between fiction and reality, capturing glimpses from wondrous perspectives.
The most central theme in her art is the female image and the various forms it can take in modern society. Her female characters are imbued with the full spectrum of human emotion and state of mind.
It's creative journalism, telling entire stories so many women could relate to with just a single portrait or illustrated moment. What's particularly refreshing in Fuchs' work is that she doesn't try to glamorize women or turn them into mundane objects of perfection. Instead, she seeks to capture their drama, sassiness, inner confidence, unapologetic sex appeal, and unadulterated charm. In that sense, her paintings from the VIVID Serirs are reminiscent of photographs of the elusive female soul. They feel like looking through the eyes of a poet in love, capturing all the spontaneous beauty and magic streaming from those women's expressions. Another testament to her unusual approach is her Short Stories Series, depicting faceless women in trival, yet beautifully natural moments. Fuchs puts viewers in a poetic frame of mind and lets them fill in the gaps for themselves. Her choice of colors evokes the emotion each piece is intended to capture. This series feels personal and universal at the same time. AT first glance, it may appear extremely simple, but it's the kind of simplicity that borders with genius.
Orit's oil paintings definitely lean more toward "high," somewhat trippy art, and that is the category where Fuchs's talent feel the most eclectic and unpredictable. That being said, they still feature that signature vibrancy and contemporary edginess.
Fuchs's sculptures are playful, charmingly innocent, and tastefully simplistic. They include figures of women such as Sofia the Swimmer, Miss Kate, and The Capsule, as well as Pinocchio characters and sumo wrestlers, which can breathe life even to the gloomiest of environments. Ehatever the particular characters, they are all quaint pieces of art that represent the sense of wonder and joy of life which our inner child has managed to hold onto.
Fuchs has made her presence known in the international art scene, with acclaimed projects and exhibitions in hubs like Toronto, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Korea and Taiwan

- Aboriginal Painting by Michael Nelson TjakamarraBy Michael Nelson TjakamarraLocated in Miami, FLMichael Nelson Tjakamarra (also cited as: Michael Nelson Jagamarra, or Jakamara) is a Senior Warlpiri Tribesman and an Elder of the Papunya Community in central Australia. Born c. 1949 at Pikilyi, Vaughan Springs west of Yuendumu in the Northern Territory, he grew up ‘in the bush’. His father was an important tribal elder and medicine man at Yuendumu. It was therefore automatic that he would grow up with the traditional values and knowledge that now influences his paintings. Michael lived at Haasts Bluff until his parents took him to Yuendumu for European education at the mission school. He left school at thirteen, after initiation, and worked at buffalo shooting, driving trucks, droving cattle and in the army, before returning to Yuendumu and then to Papunya to settle in 1976. He worked for a time in the Government store and for the Council. Michael learned to paint at Papunya by observing the senior men such as Billy Stockman and Old Mick Tjakamarra. Although he was tutored by his uncle, Jack Tjupurrula, Michael developed his own style and began painting earnestly from 1983. Michael is known as master desert painter for his depiction of several Dreamings in one painting. For him the understanding of the Dreaming stories that go with his paintings is all important – without the stories his paintings would ‘mean nothing’ as far as he is concerned. His Dreamings include the Possum, Snake, Two Kangaroos, Rock Wallaby, Bush Banana, Honey Ant and Yam. In 1984 Michael won the National Aboriginal Art Award with his painting ‘Three Dreamings’. His reputation as a painter rose rapidly after this. He exhibited his work in the 1986 Biennale of Sydney and featured in ‘The State of the Art’, a British art documentary. In 1987 Michael had been asked to paint a major work (27’long) to decorate the foyer of Sydney’s Opera House and he chose to paint his ‘Possum Dreaming’ story. A great highlight in Michael’s career was in 1988 when he was commissioned to design a 196 sq-metre mosaic in the main forecourt of Australia’s new Parliament House in Canberra. The work was based on his ‘Kangaroo and Emu’ dreaming. Michael was presented to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth 11...Category

- Munch Scream vs Monalisa SmileBy Alex Guofeng CaoLocated in New York, NYIn a captivating new collection, Alex Guofeng Cao dazzles audiences with his unique twist on instantly recognizable images. Inspired by history and pop culture, Cao manipulates one iconic image to create another in his extraordinary large-scale works. From a distance, the pieces appear to be a singular image but as the viewer approaches closer, you find each work is a masterfully crafted compilation of minute detailed images layered next to one another, creating a mesmerizing and hypnotic optical illusion. Cao meticulously places each smaller image to form a dynamic gradient from dark to light which tricks the eye into seeing one image. This expertise in contrast is exemplified in all of his works, from striking black and white pieces to stunning explorations in high-definition color. He cleverly mirrors this visual contrast in his subject matter by subverting the main image and creating a dialogue between the macrocosm and microcosm. Take the piece, Ali vs Armstrong; here we see the iconic image of Muhammed Ali’s victory composed of thousands of tiny portraits...Category
