Signed lower right: 'A.Brook '59'. Painted in Sag Harbor, Long Island in 1959. Adeline (Adaline) Glasheen was a writer. She was a friend of the artist and worked in literary circles with Thornton Wilder, with whom she published a book of letters about James Joyce, 'A Tour of the Darkling Plain'. She was a penetrating critic of the works of James Joyce and is still studied for her insights into such works as 'Finnegan's Wake.'

Artist Statement: “I take Inspiration from what I see around me, but my personal thoughts are only the starting point and inspiration for the research on the man and his condition.” Anna Wypych, based in Poland, paints realistic portraits in the traditional oil technique. Her art contains elements of hyperrealism, surrealism and pure imaginative. Characteristic of her are philosophical texts, which always complements her works. Artist concentrates on the human condition and her powerful women portraits show a variety of inner strength which can be found in people seen from the positive point of view.
