Artist Notes :
I am enamoured with Superman and everything he stands for. He is the uber-immigrant, something people often forget. He is not human but merely looks human. Kal-El the Kryptonian-American represents the best in our human society, hence the tagline, “Truth, justice, and the American way.” As an immigrant to North America I find myself relating to Superman in many ways and that was the drive and concept behind this work of art.
Highlights :
Red and blue tones are proudly used throughout this patriotic piece as Superman’s cape blends into the American Flag.
The crystals shooting out of the bottom of the piece represent his original home of Krypton and his Fortress of Solitude.
In the upper right corner, the Daily Planet emblem is displayed proudly, representing the Clark Kent side of his life.

Blend Cota
Blend Cota is the main artist for all of the DC comics art work and a lot of the art done for Thomas Kinkade Studios. His use of color to paint such paintings as Batman, Harley Quinn, the Flash, Wonder Woman, etc; has made him one of the most sought artists in the world. Blend specializes in oil on canvas, mural paintings and professional photography. For more than 13 years, he was the Art Director of Atelier America and Brushstrokes Fine Art, Inc., two of North America's largest art publishing/direct mail companies. Blend studied at the Fine Arts Academy of Albania and, after a long journey, is now living in Toronto, Canada, working as the Creative Director for Thomas Kinkade Studios. He has painted an astonishing range of styles, from simple study sketches to landscapes and portraits to detailed realism and abstract installation. His love of art has taken him on many paths and fulfilled his artistic persona with a vast range of trades and experiences. He always liked Picasso, his legacy of fearless creations, borderless shapes and bold blocks of colors.
