Chamnan Chongpaiboon, born in 1982 and hailing from Kanchanaburi, is a Bangkok-based artist whose work centers around the use of dots to construct contemporary faces inspired by ritualistic Buddhist Mandala circles and meditative states of mind. With a vibrant color palette and simple composition, his pieces often feature glimpses of retro fashion while exploring the beauty of women.
Chongpaiboon views each dot as an alphabet, and the continuous stream of dots forming circles represents the formation of words. When several rings of circles come together in one place, they form a story. The circle holds a deeper meaning for the artist, representing completeness, peace, and eternity in accordance with his Buddhist beliefs in the "Wheel of Dhamma."
Chongpaiboon's mastery of the pointillism technique is particularly noteworthy, as he executes it freehand without technological assistance. He earned a BA in Fine Art from Silpakorn University in Thailand and has exhibited his works in numerous locations, including Australia, New York, Miami, London, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Thailand. He currently resides and creates in Bangkok, Thailand.

Chamnan Chongpaiboon
Chamnan Chongpaiboon lives and works in Thailand. He studied at the University of Fine Arts of Suphanburi, and went on to study at the King Mongkut Institute of Technology where he obtained a degree in painting, sculpture, and engraving. Through his work, the artist developed an original and unique language. He produces portraits of women using thousands of paint drops applied in concentric circles, all done by hand, with incredible regularity and precision. He uses the aboriginal technique known as "dotting" and pointillism without losing its modernity. The result is impressive and charming, which make his models hypnotising . His pieces have been exhibited in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York just to name a few.
