The work is impeccably rendered in a soft palette without any brush strokes. A charming rendition of a beautiful European young woman whose face has flawless features. It's executed in a very polished paint technique similar to William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Although the portrait was done around 140 years ago, the sitter looks of the moment. The work is traditional yet contemporary. In most portraiture, the beauty of the sitter is a major factor in determining price.
