French Painter 19th century
Born in Paris on April 16th, 1808. Died in 1879
Larousse Dictionary gives the dates 1810-1875
Painter of History, genre, Still-Life,
Entered at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris on November 6th, 1824, he became the pupil of Antoine Jean GROS (1771-1835).
After having initially worked sculpture and engraving, He exhibited at the Salon from 1833 to 1868.
In 1836, he was awarded with a Third class medal and on August 12th, 1863 the cross of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour. He devoted himself to all the kinds and in particular to the painting of still-life including flowers and fruits.
