About the Item
This contemporary painting by Jose Roldan Rendon is an in color depiction of a "Golden Age" baseball player. This era ranged between 1920 and 1960 where the baseball games were slowly being shown in color on TVs around the nation. This artist was raised in Spain and did much of his schooling there, in addition to being inspired by his father. He then moved to Brooklyn, NY where he has become not only a painter, but a photographer, digital artist, muralist, and illustrator. His work shows a stark contrast between bright colors and breathes life into a subject which is more commonly seen in the monotone black and white style. The subjects of his paintings vary, but his fascination is in the movement and dynamic energy of different characters and celebrities within the city. This painting comes with frame and is signed and dated in the bottom right.
