Day at the Ranch

About the Item

“Day at the Ranch” is a painting by Dr. M.A. Bhatti executed in oil on canvas; measuring 11 x 14 inches. The painting depicts a cowboy on horseback from a low angle, with the horse's upper body and the whole cowboy taking up bottom, right portion of the canvas. The horse is shown in profile, facing left. Its color is bay. It wears a Western saddle, a blanket with Southwestern motifs, reigns and a harness. The cowboy on the horse's back is shown in profile, facing left, and turned away from the viewer. He holds a lasso with blue skies in the background. The cowboy's posture suggests he's ready to take action, perhaps to lasso a horse or rogue bull. The piece is framed in an elegant dark wood and gold frame measuring 15 x 18 inches. Dr. Mohammad Ali Bhatti is a world renowned contemporary painter. He has been exhibiting for the last 35 years, having had over 30 national and international solo exhibitions and several group shows to his credit. His artistic accomplishments are equally outstanding in portrait painting, abstract painting, southwestern subjects and watercolor painting. His academic and artistic achievements are exceptional. He earned his MFA in painting from Edinboro Univeristy of Pensylvania, and his PhD in Interdiciplinary Arts from Ohio University. Bhatti describes that painting is like composing a symphony where he emphasizes vivid tonailty, the juxtaposition of simple and complex forms, and texture. His compositions are energetic allowing elements to move freely in an anonymous space molded with bold brush strokes. Visual complexity, aesthetic sensibility of design, form, and content are the true essence of his painting.
