Patrice Landauer est un artiste peintre français né en 1965.
Patrice Landauer a approfondi son style au cours d'études artistiques très poussées. Il se forme au graphisme et au livre à l'Ecole supérieure des Arts appliqués, puis suis le cursus de MET de Penninghem. Mais c'est la peinture qui représente sa véritable voie et il fait les Beaux-Arts de Paris en section peinture, dans l'atelier d'Albert Zavaro.
Dans la grande tradition des peintres voyageurs, Patrice Landauer développe une oeuvre très personnelle, au rebours de tous les courants habituels de l'art contemporain.
Il voyage dans l'espace, rapportant de ses séjours en Afrique des tableaux visionnaires, où la lumière danse et miroite pour mettre en valeur personnes et lieux. Il traite avec bonheur les animaux et les hommes, notamment dans ses représentations du monde des courses hippiques.
Mais il voyage aussi dans le temps, puisant dans sa culture historique de l'image des inspirations puissantes. Ses oeuvres sont peuplées de biplans du temps des pionniers de l'aviation, de locomotives dignes du Gabin de la Bête humaine, ou de scènes parisiennes de la Belle Epoque.
Il traite ses sujets avec une pâte épaisse et solide, qui ancre sa peinture dans le réalité et le concret. Grâce à ce style puissant, ses oeuvres évitent la nostalgie ou l'anecdote; Elles nous font entrer dans un univers très présent, où l'imaginaire de l'artiste vibre d'une vie palpable et sensible.
