Large 19th Century British Victorian School portrait of Matilda Currie aged 28 wearing an elaborate white bonnet, oil on canvas, Exceptional quality and unique period portrait of the young lady in a green dress, white bonnet and lace scarf. Inscribed verso and early ancestry research indicates she was born in Scotland before emigrating to America (Toledo, Ohio) and lived till the age of 63 "Matilda Currie (1804-1867)"
