A striking figurative abstract composition, titled ‘Friday Evening’ and dated 2013 on reverse.
Bold outlines and rich colours intertwine to create this captivating and expressive composition. Although abstract in nature and not rendered in a realistic manner, a pair of eyes are red lips are evident in this painting, and we can discern a portrait of a human subject.
The artist has employed geometric shapes and lines to convey the essence of the subject’s character and emotions. Bold outlines delineate the contours of the figure, giving it a strong presence. Rich colours including shades of orange, blue and red dominate the artwork, reflecting the artist’s intention to evoke a sense of energy.
