About the Item
Italian Floral is an oil painting done in the style of Realism in the artist studio in Florence, Italy. It has a custom frame made in Florence by a master framer.
Barbara Castrucci began her training as a realist painter at 17 years old in the studio of portraitist Rebecca Harp in Florence than in Marc Dalessio’s private school.
While studying portrait and still life in the naturalistic tradition of the 19th Century British School, Barbara reproduced many of the works of the Great Masters of the past including Caravaggio, Raphael, the Flemish and Spanish 17th Century Masters.
Following the allure of the realistic tradition of portrait painting, the artist became a portraitist working mainly on commission. Her works rest in private collections in Florence and abroad. Other paintings by Barbara Castrucci are shown also.
