This Still-life painting by Russian artist Ksenya Istomina is made in 2020 during the Lockdown in Russia. The artist couldn't leave her apartment, only for a little shopping. So she couldn't go outside to her studio and painted at home. She painted what was in her home.
One of the works she made was this beautiful still-life of a bowl with roses. It just arrived before the start of 2021 in our gallery in Holland.
At the moment it is not framed, of course we will frame it for you in the frame we normally use for her art, because we didn't frame it at the moment you're free to ask for another frame, we will be happy to discuss this with you.
Ksenya Istomina graduated in 2018 at the 'Imperial Academy of Arts in St Petersburg'. Since her start she is well known all over the world and followed by thousands of artists, students and art lovers on Instagram because of her beautiful style, technique, brushstrokes, form, use of color, etc. . Her first exhibition was in May 2020 in our Gallery, a huge succes with sales to altlovers and collectors all over the world.
We as Galerie Bonnard in Holland have the privilege to have all of her works exclusive in our collection.
We have met during her graduation in 2018 in the famous 'Imperial Academy of Arts in St Petersburg. It was beautiful to hear the applause and see the reaction of teachers and public while watching at her pieces of art.
One big talent she is.
We ship all of our artworks in a safe, custom made wooden crate (see picture) to anywhere in the world for free.

Ksenya Istomina
Ksenya Istomina, a born painter. “From my second year,” says Ksenya Istomina, “my mother gave me a new sketchbook every day, I always drew such a sketchbook full and then another empty notebook was ready. In kindergarten I drew whole stories together with my girlfriend that we made up together. Now this girlfriend is my favorite model and you can see her in several of my paintings. At primary school, my parents were advised to let me go to art school. I started doing that at the age of 10 and I graduated from the Imperial Academy of Arts at the age of 27”. Studying at this famous Academy has brought a lot to the now 29-year-old Istomina, she sees not only the lessons but also the cooperation with her fellow students and teachers as special and valuable. An academic study where everything is drawn and painted completely 'from life'. The building itself also has a long history in the art world. Not everything has been restored and partly because of this, that history is clearly visible in a fascinating way. Her fascination for this environment can also be seen in some of the paintings Ksenya Istomina made for her solo exhibition at Galerie Bonnard. Your own style Studying at the academy meant hard work. For six years, the young artist usually painted and drew 7 days a week, 7-12 hours a day. This has resulted in enormous experience, knowledge and mastery of the craft. With her soft, dreamy personality she puts her own character into the work. This own style did not come to her mind. Developing your own style was not easy. During the hours of drawing and painting sessions and the intensive collaboration and work discussions with her fellow students, the hours of copying the old masters in the museums in various styles, she discovered her style and found the subjects that appeal to her. There is not a single style of a particular artist that is preferred by the artist. That she has an enormous knowledge of the history of art is apparent from the series of names she mentions when we ask her this question. Some of the names she mentions are: Johannes Vermeer, Claude Monet, Jules Bastien Lepage, John Everett Millet, Vilhelm Hammershøi, Leonardo da Vinci, Isaac Levitan, John Singer Sargent, George Clausen, Henri Fantin-Latour and Arkhip Kuindzhi. Studying and discussing with others what she likes and would like to show in her work is not over after her academic period. One of her fellow students became her partner and she discusses what she is going to paint with him, they view and judge each other's work and are each other's main critics. Istomina says that this support ensures that they both constantly learn quality and creativity.

Artisan; the work is painted so realistically that everything seems 'touchable'. It seems to be 'there'... Colour; the artist isn't afraid to go wild with color. This gives the still lifes a liveliness that is unique for 'still lifes'. Combinations; the subjects that Jean Paul Marsman...Category

- Landscape Of A Still-Life - Still-Life by Dutch Painter Sietse W. JonkerLocated in Nuenen, Noord BrabantSince August 2018 Sietse W. Jonker belongs to the group of artists that we permanently represent in our stock-exposition. In mid-2019, this still-life artist will take part in a group exhibition devoted to still life in painting. His work can be seen all year round and for sale through our gallery. To get to know us, we visited the artist in his studio in Leeuwarden. a centrally located donkey and a window on the Noorderlicht dominate the space together with the still life that he is currently working on. According to the artist, a still life should not be 'made to look', in the final painting it should ultimately be an ordered harmony. The artist himself: That is not always easy and sometimes I am busy with all kinds of objects here in the house. Every now and then something comes up or something is taken away again until I am satisfied. Usually I have a vague idea of what I want, but to give that 'vague idea' a concrete form is quite difficult. The idea then to create a three-dimensional world on a two dimensional level intrigues Sietse Jonker...Category
