Brett Eberhardt
Fragment, Still Life, Botanical Patterned Green, Yellow Fabric, Wooden Table

2011

About the Item

A floral patterned fabric with yellow flowers on light green lays atop a nondescript light wood table. The botanical patterned object is unexpectedly dramatic against a stark white wall. Signed, dated and titled on verso. Brett Eberhardt’s painted interiors are inhabited by singular objects, and are vacant of human presence save the reminders in the painted surfaces, worn floor boards or a work table softened by use. Eberhardt’s humble interiors, lushly described in oil paint, depict the well-loved surfaces of his studio and home in a tender, devout manner. Eberhardt earned his MFA at Syracuse University and currently teaches in the art department of Manchester Community College in Manchester, CT.
