This painting was featured in an exhibition entitled, "Ripe" which showcased Emily Roz's talent for heightened realism. Impeccable detail and fine brushstrokes define the structure of the flower pods and Roz has captured the ochre and golden tones with the rose flower buds of the Magnolia Grandiflora in this painting.
Emily Roz received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and her BA from Hampshire College. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She has been reviewed in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, The Washington Post, Joy Quarterly, W+G Williamsburg News + Art, Apollo Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail and NewCity Chicago. Emily was raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and currently lives and works in New York City.
