  • Osnat Yaheli Sarbagili, Planters , 2017 oil on canvas 93 x 52 cm (37 x 20 in)
    Located in Jerusalem, IL
Osnat Yaheli Sarbagil Planters , 2017 oil on canvas 93 x 52 cm (37 x 20 in) Focusing on the detailed patterns of faux-marble tiles, her paintings assimilate abstract geometric compositions. Occasionally an object such as a plant or a garbage can disrupt the severe cold surfaces to create a human scale or reference. Her works criticize the local architecture of the day as a reflection of the pseudo “New Israeli” identity they try to portray. These images are engineered renderings...

  • «My brother gave them a name» Still Life Oil Painting by Samantha Van Heest
    By Samantha Van Heest
    Located in Oslo, NO
This painting was inspired by the artists very first toy, a small blue giraffe, given to her as a day-old baby. It is something that has been around her whole life, and even though it is inanimate, there is a feeling of personification through the years of wear. Her brother as a baby would call giraffes “fa,” which is always a sweet memory she associate with this toy. Samantha Van Heest...
