Purple poppies. 1982, watercolor on paper, 80x68 cm Still life with violet-white poppies Ilona Brekte (1952) - watercolor painter. Graduated Art Academy of Latvia, Applied Arts department. Since 1973 took part in exhibitions. Solo exhibitions: Vecmilgravis 1979, Lizums 1982 (with J. Brekte), Krimulda (1984), Sigulda, Riga (1985), Cesis, Ulbroka (1986), Gulbene (1986 with J. Brekte, 1989), Kuldiga, Valmiera (1987), Jurmala (1988). More than 200 group exhibitions in Latvia, USSR, Poland, Germany, Mongolia and Africa – Benin. Since 1980 she is a member of Artist`s Union.
