About the Item
The paintings are drawn with oil on the canvas with stretcher
A bright still life with pomegranates and lemons. The national Armenian headscarf is on a dark background. There is a silver bowl with fruits on it. Two glasses of wine. Everything suggests that this is a meeting with a wonderful friend. He's been waiting for you for so long. Sweet, ripe pomegranate. A heartfelt conversation. Yellow fragrant lemons for tea. Small moments of happiness that we keep in our memory forever. Maybe it's a date or a romantic meeting? Or maybe two friends met to talk about important things? There is always something to remember
It's one-of-a-kind art, handmade from start to finish.

- Alfred Edouard Tourillon (1871 1942) Still Life - Basket of Shrimps Oil PaintingLocated in Meinisberg, CHAlfred Edouard Tourillon (French, 9.9.1871 - 9.2.1942) Still life with a basket of shrimps, seaweed and a lemon • Oil on canvas mounted on canvas, stretcher ca. 38 x 46 cm • Vintage shabby chic frame ca. 60 x 69 cm • Signed bottom right Alfred Edouard Tourillon was born on September 9, 1871 in Livry in Seine et Oise, (Today Livry-Gargan in Seine-Saint Denis). He was born into a world, where painting has been going through unprecedented upheavals for two decades. The Academies of Fine Arts are called into question, the traditional approach to subjects and genres is shaken up and recently, painters have been indulging in a revolutionary concept of light and color. New techniques and outdoor plein-air painting lead to a new style of painting. Tourillon was attracted early in his life to the fine art of painting. At a very young age, he rubbed shoulders with artists living in the Nouvelle Athènes district in Paris and was eventually apprenticed by Denis-Pierre Begeret (1846 - 1910), who recognized Tourillon’s extraordinary talent for detailed composition in still lifes and landscapes. Based in Lagny, Alfred Edouard Tourillon went on to exhibit at the Salon des Artistes in 1896, 1898, 1899, 1900 and 1901 and received plenty of recognition for his talent from collectors, as well as from his peers. In 1899, he received an honorable mention by "Le Salon des Artistes Français" in Paris for "Les Artichokes". This painting was later acquired by Baron Alphonse de Rothschild and is held today at the Museum of the city of Draguignan. Tourillon would frequent the neo-impressionists of the Lagny group, meeting artists such as Maximilien Luce, Camille Pissaro, Henri Cortes Émile Gustave Cavallo-Peduzzi, being especially friendly with Léo Gausson and André Cortes...Category
