Linda Clerget
Getting lost in the infinite

2021

About the Item

"Getting lost in the infinite" is a meditation on a motif dear to painters of all times and all continents: the mass of water lilies. For Linda Clerget, nature is perceived as an accumulation of forms and colors that merge and from which emerges a whole. Thus, the use of acrylic in vivid strokes enhances this almost psychedelic vision. It is a call to reconnect with nature and the environment, to repopulate the plants with spirits and a sacred aura. This piece was made on a cotton canvas. It is a work both meticulous and spontaneous. Linda Clerget is an internationally renowned artist with five years of experience and numerous exhibitions and art reviews to her credit. She has developed a personal technique for highlighting cosmic and vegetal elements. Linda Clerget's abstract cosmic plant paintings are a true hymn to nature and the universe, a call to contemplation, reflection and poetry.

A Glittering Autumn Day by Artist Nicky Chubb is an original artwork. Chubb's unique style of splattering paint for the leaves makes the tree stand out to the viewer. Nicky Chubb artist with Wychwood Art. Nicky Chubb comments " My work is essentially optimistic, whether I'm painting flowers or the sea, the emotions I aim to evoke are hope and happiness. The trees, big skies and hardy heathland flowers of the countryside around my home, and the sense of time and belonging that watching them through the seasons brings, are a huge inspiration. I try to capture a sense of air and movement as I paint. I originally trained as a designer (BA hons Fashion, Central St Martins 1993) and the influence of my love of textiles can be seen in my use of colour, texture and pattern. I am currently exploring the different effects, happy accidents and controlled corrosion of mixed media in the backgrounds of my tree paintings to create wilder skies. Drawing the human figure, trying to capture moments in time and changing light is an interest that has always run parallel to my other work. All my figure paintings are in mixed media, either quick, gestural drawings or multi-layered combinations of ink, paint, collage and resin. " Nicky Chubb artist is shown in Wychwood Art gallery...
