Colors include red, purple, green, blue, yellow, and black. Framed in a gold frame.
Lucy Gould Reitzfeld employs the fact of nature as a bountiful resource for the act of painting. Her handling of nature’s values, its tints and shades, suggests much observation and study. Her landscapes and still lifes are all the more impressive for their evolution away from the motif; they are worked out in the studio, from a compilation of sketches, family photographs and pastoral recollections. Ultimately, they are a cumulative response to a place and time, rather than an attempt at documentation or realism.
