Ramón Moscardó (1953) - Still life with teapot and pipe - Oil on cardboard Oil on cardboard. Oil measures 17.5x24.5 cm. Frame measures 25x32 cm. new frame. Ramón Moscardó studied at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts and La Lonja School, both in Barcelona. In 1971 he received the Santiago Barceló prize in the young painters contest called by the Parés room, a contest in which he will obtain the first prize in 1975. Moscardó has also been awarded in the Young Painting Contests of "The Catalan Mail", where he obtained the First Prize in 1972 and 1973, the Ybarra Special Prize in 1972 and the Third Prize in 1975. He also works with engraving and illustration, and has held individual exhibitions of his work both in Spain and abroad. He has also exhibited regularly since 1978 in the Parés hall in Barcelona. His painting, based on a language of agile strokes and spots of color, offers us renewed views of reality. Moscardó is currently represented in the Col • lecció Testimoni de La Caixa (Barcelona), as well as in various private collections.

Janet de La Roche was often called one of the last Bohemians. She was an artist as well as an avid Flamenco dancer. The couple spent four years in Europe and further studied in Paris at Académie de la Grande Chaumière and Andre Lhote Institute, and in Barcelona at Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Jorge .She also studied with the artist, Ejnar Hansen. as well as with Earl Kerkam, Yves Brayer, Jean Aujame, Edouard Goerg, F.Tolles Chamberlin and George Stanley. Upon returning to California in 1956, they settled on the Monterey Peninsula and built a home in Pacific Grove. She exhibited widely and with much success, including at the Salon d'Automne (1954), the Salon des Artes Decoratifs, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, (1955), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She was the winner of the Prix Othon Friesz.
