About the Item
Artist Comments
Two gourds in deep blue and golden yellow lean against a cool muted background. "The mysticism of the gourd is partially due to its shape causing many people to believe that they have the capability of enacting the power to save the world," says artist Ziui Vance. Above the gourds are two tiny ladybugs flitting about. "However, after a day of tussling against the more elaborate foes, these gourds find themselves on the precipice of a new adventure." The work comes in a metal frame with tempered glass.
About the Artist
Chinese artist Ziui Vance is a Michigan-based painter who works in both oil and acrylic paint. Through her artwork, Ziui strives to set up the relationship between the viewer and the artwork as one of a guest and host. Her paintings offer the viewer access into her own world of imagination. Her abstract work are reminiscent paintings by Mark Rothko, while her figurative work has similarities to Chinese contemporary artists Yue Minjun and Zhang Xiaogang. Ziui has a BA in design from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China and an MFA in art from University of Michigan. She is represented by UGallery.

- Baseball Horizon, Original PaintingBy Stephen CapognaLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
A macro hyperrealistic rendition of a baseball by artist Stephen Capogna. "The painting depicts an ultra-close detail of a baseball with a space-like horizon in the background," states Stephen. Painting with a methodical process Stephen utilizes an airbrush and thousands of templates. The result is a highly detailed compelling image.About the Artist
In a striking example of hyperrealism, Stephen Capogna’s body of work manages to capture the essence of macro photography in highly detailed acrylic paintings. Stephen’s inspiration initially came from golf courses near his home. The work focuses on the minute details of sporting goods, from the lightly scratched dimples on a golf ball to the individual fibers on a tennis ball. He works exclusively from his own photographs using an innovative airbrushing technique. Stephen utilizes a large spray gun at the beginning of a painting for color application in large areas. He then wields a small airbrush for the finer details, using templates hand-cut from mylar to create edges and shapes. “One of the biggest defining moments for me was incorporating the airbrush into my process of painting,†Stephen...Category21st Century and Contemporary Minimalist Still-life Paintings

- Lost in Time by Jim Seitz, Large Silver Leaf Minimalist Landscape PaintingBy Jim SeitzLocated in Atlanta, GA'Lost in Time' is a large minimalist acrylic and silver leaf on canvas landscape painting of square format, created by American artist Jim Seitz in 2023. Featuring a palette made of silver, white, black and gold tones, the painting depicts a large white cloud, standing out beautifully on a grey sky and dominating a line of dark trees. The ensemble is perfectly contrasted by the luminous presence of the foreground. Unframed, this minimalist acrylic and silver leaf on canvas landscape painting is signed lower right. Jim Seitz was born in Chicago and currently resides in Louisiana. He grew up in Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He began showing talent and love for art as a young child, becoming more serious during his college years. During the time he worked for the university, providing medical illustrations for the Science Department, He has traveled extensively throughout his life, living for several years in the Middle East, before moving to South East Asia. His travel experiences have included everything from cave explorations in the mountains of Iran to working in the jungles of New Guinea and Borneo. His preferred medium during that time was ink and watercolor, as it was easy to transport to and from remote locations. While influenced by various 19th century landscape artists, Jim has developed a unique technique characterized by tonal, minimalist representation of his subject matter. Through this approach, less becomes more. His appreciation for color and his creative perspective lend to pieces that are traditional, moving to abstract. His utilization of gold leaf applied over heavy textured canvas and then glazed with multiple layers of acrylics provides an effect that is quickly becoming this artist’s signature style. Jim’s work...Category
