About the Item

"Embers" is a soft and ethereal abstract expressionist oil painting on canvas by US artist, Trixie Pitts. The palette is warm and muted, but still has a wide range of color. It includes several soft pink and peach shades as well as tan and soft yellow, with pale and mid-tone periwinkle blue, white and black. If you are looking for a somewhat neutral painting but still want it bold and daring, then "Embers" is the one for you. It is protected by a satin UV varnish. See photos as to how it looks to scale in various different settings once re-stretched or framed. **Shipped carefully ROLLED in a box, to be re-stretched on a thick stretcher by a framer, with further framing then optional. Jules Van Biesbroeck was the son of Jules Evariste van Biesbroeck, a painter of Ghent, but was born in Italy, in Portici, near Naples, while his parents were staying there. (In the 19th century many artists made educational trips to Italy). It was a long visit: the child was two years old by the time the family returned to Ghent.[1] After a short period of practice with his father, van Biesbroeck was enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent.
