About the Item
This piece is about love and waiting. Roland Barthes said that the one who waits is the one in love. A red chair and a black bird discussing Barthes' words while waiting for someone who doesn't exist is a picture of innocent love. The old time phone cables crossing the darkness over the figures is a symbol of calling out, a tool to communicate with someone else or each other. The red waiting chair with sport socks is a "character" that appears often in my work. A naif waiting chair represents life, patience, and love. A black bird (a common character in my work as well) with dishevel feathers and an attentive look represent wisdom and loyalty.
