Contemporary abstract black and white photograph
In its infancy, an organism is pure and malleable. Maturation inherently means encountering outside influences: environments, shifts, traumas and relationships, all of which leave their mark on what will become a fully grown unique life form. Morphogenesis focuses on the "moments between moments" along this journey - the anticipation of change, rather than the change itself. Devoid of outside influences or environments, we experience the anticipation of an organism before it begins to take shape.
Consisting of four individually custom framed 28x28 inch hand printed abstract photographic gelatin silver prints. Each print is signed, dated and editioned on reverse. Hung in a square arrangement to create a 60x60 inch (5x5 foot square) installation.
Framed with museum glass and custom welded and powder coated black frame.
There is approximately five weeks turnaround for the works to ship.

Osheen Harruthoonyan
Based in New York and Vancouver, Osheen Harruthoonyan is an Armenian-Canadian photographer who merges movement with themes of cultural heritage and renewal. Hand-printed on gelatin silver paper, his limited-edition prints bring together images of the macro – the sun, Saturn, mount Ararat – with the micro – specks of dust, tiny organisms – to create a new perspective of the world around us, challenging our perception of familiar sights and landscapes through interweaving themes of hope and wonder into the visual narratives we interact with on a daily basis.
Harruthoonyan’s anomalies represent the transient nature of time, space and memory he experienced as a young refugee in Greece, escaping the Iran-Iraq war.
Osheen’s work has been featured in numerous international exhibits, collections and publications, including the Aga Khan Museum, the Louvre, Museum London, as well as features on Vice!, Bravo! Arts, Space Channel, the CBC’s “Exhibitionists,” and the Marriott Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, California, curated by Standard Vision.
