About the Item

This dark green and black winter scene of a car mirror is an original work by Canadian artist Alison Postma. The layered composition is playful, unexpected, and created through an experimentation process by the artist as she ‘gets to know objects’. The richness of the colour and unique composition blends abstract and representational art making this limited edition print a piece to remember. About the artist: Alison Postma is an artist based in Toronto, Ontario. She studied art at the University of Guelph and graduated in 2016. In 2015, she received the AIMIA/AGO Photography Prize Scholarship. Since graduating, she has participated in local Toronto residencies and group shows, as well as showing work nationally and internationally. Her work is primarily photographic, but also often incorporates video and sculptural elements. Her work deals a lot with the unconscious, the translation of objects from three to two dimensions, and – recently – art handling materials and processes.
