A Portrait of George Harrison of ‘The Beatles’ Rock Band by British photographer Arthur Steel.
Image unearthed September 2018.
Arthur recalls: “George and I hit it off the moment we met, we connected really well and got on famously. I was always very relaxed in his company, as was he in mine. I do feel that the friendship and warmth between us comes across quite strongly in my portrait. He was only 26 and still with ‘The Beatles’ at the time. Little did I know that the band would split up the following year in 1970.”
Arthur's photography archive is nothing short of brilliant and highly collectible. Super crisp images of iconic individuals who are clearly very relaxed in front of his lens. No surprise he was one of 4 royal photographers who photographed Princess Diana and Prince Charles at their wedding.
