David Yarrow has built an unrivaled reputation for capturing the beauty of the planet’s remote landscapes, cultures and endangered animals. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, he is an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer and Europe’s best selling wildlife photographer.
I don’t think there is another animal that tests our camera systems and indeed our camera work as much as these beautiful cats.
This photograph was taken in the Kevin Richardson Sanctuary one hour north of Pretoria. Kevin does as much as anyone to raise awareness of the plight of the African lion. His relationship with big cats is a wonder to see first-hand and as an ambassador to his foundation, I am fortunate to have fairly exclusive access not only to his lions, but also 4 black leopards under his care. These are not tame leopards and we have to be very careful even under controlled conditions.
